Azuki Elementals is the third major NFT collection in the Azuki ecosystem, launched on June 27, 2023, by Chiru Labs. The collection consists of 20,000 anime-style digital avatars on Ethereum. These are themed around four elemental domains: Fire, Water, Lightning and Earth. This release followed the original 10,000 – strong Azuki collection and its companion, Beanz.
With its slogan “Four Domains, One Garden”, Elementals extends the lore of Hilumia and The Garden. The collection uses elemental motifs and new design variations, including kid and animal characters.
As a sister collection to Azuki and BEANZ, it is designed to enrich community storytelling, power future gamified experiences (like the rumored Azuki TCG). It also strengthens Azuki’s cultural footprint across art, anime, and on-chain IP. The collection inherits visual traits from the original Azukis while introducing new art directions and lore tiers, accessible through Azuki's interactive world of Hilumia.
Elementals launched via a Dutch auction, starting at 2 ETH, first open to Azuki owners, then Beanz holders. Notably, the NFTs ultimately sold out within minutes, raising approximately $38 million during presale.
Ownership of Elementals may unlock perks like Garden access, exclusive merchandise, TCG airdrops, and AnimeChain integration. The collection is a critical part of Azuki's vision for AnimeChain, a broader Web3-native multimedia franchise. AnimeChain platform blends anime, collectibles, trading cards, and gaming.
