At the core of the protocol are cross-chain liquidity pools, where users deposit their assets and earn yield from trading fees. All operations are executed through THORChain’s own automated market maker (AMM), which helps maintain balance across pools.

The RUNE token acts as the intermediary asset across all supported tokens and plays a critical role in securing the network, enabling governance, and supporting staking mechanisms.
